OUR GIRL'S
HENS
Our hens enjoy a free range life. They spend their time happily wandering around our fields enjoying the Dorset countryside. The average day for a Lakie Hill hen begins with a wake up call at dawn, then to spend the day scratching around before its into bed at dusk in our traditional purpose built hen houses.
Ducks
We have a small number of ducks on the farm but we also buy in and supply duck eggs from other local free range farms. We plan to expand our paddle of ducks in the future to produce more of our own Lakie Hill Duck eggs. At present we have a lovely mix of breeds including Khaki Campbell, Indian Runners and Applewoods. They spend their days waddling around with our hens.
Geese
We also have a small gaggle of geese on the farm. Again we supplement our own goose egg production by buying in eggs from other local free range farms. We also intend to expand our gaggle of girls in the future. Our geese spend their day guarding the property, bossing the hens around and generally keeping order.
Quail
We only have a small covey of Quail on the farm at the moment but will be expanding this side of the business in the near future. So as with the Ducks and Geese we supply eggs from a number of local farms as well as our own.
